But I Love God

Last week I asked God to show me things about myself that I needed to work on so that I can display his characteristics in all areas of my life. And y’all he did just that.

One of the many ways God speaks to me is through dreams. Ironic enough, I was also reading a dream book last week learning about some common symbols to help you decode your own dreams.

What I learned from the dream was that this particular person wants to be my friend and I haven’t always shown them the love of God. Sigh. 😔 I was taken back. You know we think, we are good until God shows you – you. I knew immediately this was something I needed to work on. In addition to the dream, I also received a reminder of the scripture, 1 John 4:8, which talks about love.

I kept reading until verse 12 and saw this: “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”

1 John 4:12 KJV

How can we say we love God who we haven’t seen, but struggle to love others who we have seen? That scripture was a revelation for me.

So, last week I start working on loving people that I’m not so fond of and finding ways to show them the love of God anyway. Whew… because you and I both know that’s what God would do.

Question of the Day? What is something that you are working on about yourself that God revealed to you?

Scripture of the Day: “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

1 John 4:8 KJV

I love this! I struggle with that to and I’ve been working on it. Hang on tight its rough at first but then you realize it’s easy to love all things god created.

Amen. So much easier when you think of it from that point of view.

Amen. It makes it easier when you put things in God’s hands.
