Grow Up
I’ve had my aloe vera (AV) plant since 2019, and every year I’ve had to replant her. Just this past week, I did it again—but this time felt different. For the first time, I truly believe AV is planted deep enough to grow. Her leaves have stretched long, and she needed more space to expand. Now she finally has room to put down strong roots in a new planter and remain planted.
As I looked at her, I couldn’t help but see the lesson in it. So often in life we try to stay in spaces that no longer serve us. Maybe they were right for a season, but now we’ve outgrown them. Just like my aloe vera, we need room to expand.
My encouragement for you—and for myself—is this: remain planted in who God has called you to be. Even when it feels scary, trust that God will place you in spaces where you can grow deeper roots in Him. And when that happens, don’t just stay the same—grow up.
