This blog is from a story I shared with a friend. I love it when my friends or anyone suggest different topics for me to write about, so feel free to send me a topic!
Storytime: I recently went to the dentist to have a custom mouthguard made. When I went to the dentist to try on my mouth guard, yall it did not fit! Like there was no way I could wear this to sleep or throughout the day. It was way too big. My dentist and the dental hygienist were looking at me and I said this is not going to work. I told them I will wait for my new custom guard to come in.
To ensure the new one would fit, my dentist came in and made my moldings for me, which they usually don’t do. I assured him I would wait as long as the new piece would be specifically designed just for me.
Just like with my experience at the dentist, oftentimes in life others may try to give you a purpose or task for your life that may not fit who you are. Their idea of what may work for you may be too narrow or too large of a scope for why God has placed you here on earth.
But, I am reminded that when you seek God’s purpose for your life, every task, obstacle, and blessing will be custom fitted for you. Have you ever seen someone with shoes on that are too big? Don’t be that person. It is so uncomfortable to walk around trying to fit into a purpose that does not align with the vision God has given you.
The Bible reminds us:
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
