Last week I asked God to show me things about myself that I needed to work on so that I can display his characteristics in all areas of my life. And y’all he did just that.
One of the many ways God speaks to me is through dreams. Ironic enough, I was also reading a dream book last week learning about some common symbols to help you decode your own dreams.
What I learned from the dream was that this particular person wants to be my friend and I haven’t always shown them the love of God. Sigh. ? I was taken back. You know we think, we are good until God shows you – you. I knew immediately this was something I needed to work on. In addition to the dream, I also received a reminder of the scripture, 1 John 4:8, which talks about love.
I kept reading until verse 12 and saw this: “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”
1 John 4:12 KJV
How can we say we love God who we haven’t seen, but struggle to love others who we have seen? That scripture was a revelation for me.
So, last week I start working on loving people that I’m not so fond of and finding ways to show them the love of God anyway. Whew… because you and I both know that’s what God would do.
Question of the Day? What is something that you are working on about yourself that God revealed to you?
Scripture of the Day: “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
1 John 4:8 KJV
